Buenos Aires: Retirees are greeted with water cannon and tear gas in peaceful protests against Austerity.

Federal forces once again repressed the peaceful demonstration of retirees. According to the Memory Commission of the Province of Buenos Aires, at least 10 people were injured and one protester was detained and later released. First, the retirees were attacked by officers from the Prefecture and Gendarmerie in the area of the National Congress, who fired pepper spray in the protesters' faces. Later, when they attempted to march in Plaza de Mayo, the city police, including water cannons, formed a cordon to prevent them from doing so.
During the mobilization, the Secretary of Social Security of the Autonomous CTA, Olivia Ruiz, said that all struggles must be united: "With joy to be together, despite the difficulties we all suffer in this context of the demand by people with disabilities for the application of their law, we must unite all our struggles so that this government finally leaves us."
